Invisible landscapes

While pregnant, this series of five paintings is inspired by the movements of the baby in my body. The ripples, tugs, sudden bulges, pinches and bubbly sensations that mark the end of pregnancy are expressed through materials that allow for the exploration of textures and techniques. The omnipresence of white contributes to the ambiguity of the details, forcing the light to intervene and the observer to approach, creating a proximity with the work. The physical feelings evoked with delicacy form invisible landscapes, landscapes white as snow whose sweeping wind slowly makes us discover a buried and protected life. These landscapes also suggest a place of rest and serene expectation, assured that God is in control.
